David Norman pled guilty on Monday to murdering his wife, Michelle Luster Norman, according to an announcement made by District Attorney Randall Houston of the 19th Judicial Circuit.

The murder took place in October 2004. The body was missing about two weeks before it was found by authorities.

Michelle Norman was reporting missing by her parents. Norman directed investigators to the site where they found Michelle's body.

Norman admitted his involvement in a two-and-a-half hour video-taped interview.

The family of Michelle Norman was present for the court hearing and sentencing.

Judge John Bush sentenced Norman to serve 25 years in prison with the Alabama Department of Corrections.

He was also ordered to pay $10,000 to the state victim's compensation fund.

"I am pleased with the sentence and hope this helps to bring about closure for Michelle Norman's family," Houston said. "Judge Bush did an excellent job of insuring justice was served."
