PRATTVILLE -- A Prattville Police Department jailer was placed on paid administrative leave Monday after allegations surfaced that he had sexual contact with three female city jail inmates.

Police Chief Alfred Wadsworth wouldn't release the officer's name, saying no criminal charges have been filed. He said the Alabama Bureau of Investigation will investigate.

The inmates reported the incidents Friday and alleged they occurred in late July and early August, Wadsworth said.
