District Attorney's Office audit clear

WETUMPKA -- The Alabama Department of Examiners of Public Accounts has completed an audit of the 19th Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office.

The circuit includes Autauga, Elmore and Chilton counties. The audit covered the time period of Sept. 1, 2002 to April 30. The audit uncovered no significant findings or areas of correction needed.

District Attorney Randall Houston was pleased with the report. The office collects and disburses court-related fees, child support payments and restitution for worthless checks.

"I think this shows the public that we are good stewards of their money," he said.
